Maximilian | Head of Manufacturing

Maximilian has been part of the ROTOP team since 2024 and today contributes to his field with a great deal of responsibility and commitment. In this interview, he shares insights into his daily work, his development at ROTOP, and the collaboration within the company – while highlighting what excites him most about his job.

How did you first come to ROTOP?

Through my studies in pharmaceutical biotechnology, I became aware of ROTOP through personal contacts as well as the biosaxony network. What particularly convinced me was the company’s strong focus on radiopharmacy and its close connection to the region.

What motivated you to join ROTOP?

The desire to make a meaningful impact with my work and to contribute directly to patient care.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

My daily work is very diverse and shaped by close collaboration with many different departments. No two days are the same.

My responsibilities include reviewing batch documentation, leading the team, and solving a wide range of challenges – often acting as a central point of contact for many topics.

The day starts in a structured way at 7:00 a.m. with arrival and preparation, followed by the team meeting at 7:15 a.m. Operational activities then begin at 8:00 a.m.

Are there any rituals or special routines within the company?

A regular part of the day is our shared lunch break at 11:15 a.m. – a short but important moment for exchange and team spirit in everyday work.

How do you experience the collaboration at ROTOP?

Very collegial, open, and supportive. The strong sense of togetherness makes it easy to feel part of the team quickly and to receive support whenever needed.

What makes ROTOP special to you?

The combination of genuine team spirit and the opportunity to take responsibility and actively contribute ideas.

What do you particularly enjoy about your work?

The mix of varied tasks, creative freedom, and an environment where collaboration is truly lived every day.

Which values are especially important to you in professional life?

Honesty and respect. Trust is built through open communication – and that is exactly what good collaboration is based on.

How have you developed at ROTOP?

I entered the field of radiopharmacy completely new to the subject and have developed significantly in a short period of time. I have especially grown in the areas of leadership, communication, and teamwork.

In which direction would you like to continue developing?

I would like to deepen my professional expertise further and continue strengthening my leadership skills – especially in team management and clear communication.

What has been your most important project so far?

My master’s thesis in the field of cancer diagnostics, which had a strong connection to ROTOP-related topics.

Was there a moment you were particularly proud of?

Starting at ROTOP directly after university in a position with leadership responsibility.

Do you have a special memory of team events or company celebrations?

My first team event in Moritzburg, just a few days after I started – it was a very quick and personal introduction to the team.

How do you maintain a balance between work and private life?

Through my girlfriend, who always supports me, sports, hobbies, my cats, and a stable personal environment. Football has also been a part of my life for many years — both through active training and working with children.

If you had to describe ROTOP in one sentence?

A family-like environment where team spirit, trust, and genuine collaboration are truly lived.

What would you say to someone considering joining ROTOP?

Anyone who wants to take responsibility, is looking for variety, and wants to work in a team that truly sticks together will find exactly the right environment here to grow both professionally and personally.
